I’m pretty sure there was about a month crammed into the last week… it’s been craziness!!
First of all, our vacuum was broken and so there was probably a month’s worth of hair in our carpet, so last Monday we finally bought a new belt and vacuumed and it was beautiful.
We also had a wonderful lesson with an investigator who is super smart and intellectual and understands so much about the gospel and loves reading the Book of Mormon and coming to church, but we finally got to the heart of the matter with him, which is that he doesn’t really know if God is His Father and loves him. We testified and invited him to pray and ask if God loves him. The Spirit was definitely there and it just made me wish that everyone in the world could understand just a little of how much Heavenly Father loves them!
Then we had a lesson with an investigator who can talk your ear off, but instead of going in with the attitude of impatience and trying to get a bit of the lesson in every few minutes, we went in and just listened. And after a little while she finished, and then we were able to teach exactly to her needs and she saw how it applied to her! It was the best lesson anyone had had with her in a long time, and it was really cool.
Then we had a couple of days where it was pretty much solid zone meetings. We went to three and trained the missionaries at each of them. And I gave a different training at each one. I talked about faith, listening, and accountability. It was a lot of work!! But I learned a lot from each one and also from the other trainings that people gave:) I always come away from meetings so inspired to do my best in the Lord’s work!
Oh we taught activity days (8-11 year old girls) and it was super fun! They’re so sweet and I was really impressed by their understanding and application of the gospel. We taught them about faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
Then we got a big surprise! One of the sisters had to go home for medical reasons, so her companion came to be a trio with us! Sister Medard is HILARIOUS and every day she makes me laugh so hard that I cry off all my mascara:D Anyway there’s been a lot of re-arranging and figuring things out and all that good stuff. But it’s been really fun and I’m excited to spend the rest of the transfer with these two!
This week, our investigator whose family are already members is getting baptized! He is so excited and has already seen the gospel of Jesus Christ changing his life. He’s seriously the best and his family is amazing too!
So good things are happening here in Aurora despite (or because of?) the craziness:) I’m so grateful to be a part of the Lord’s work and I know that He really is at the head of it!
Remember that your Father in Heaven loves you!
